Pumpkin Dress Up Time

The closer we draw to Halloween, the more pumpkins appear in my home.
Considering I bought a ton of these little foam pumpkins at the Dollar Tree,
I need to do something with them.
Once you have them all spray painted in metallics, it's a matter of imagination.
Well, imagination, and a few supplies.
The following project is for people who claim they cannot craft.
In the tropics, unless it's February, no one goes near pantyhose.
So these tights for $4 from Dollar General need another reason to live.
We'll start with a pretty lace pattern, and tights are much more durable than stockings.
Wrestle a copper pumpkin down one leg to the end,
stem side up.
Once you have it down to the toe, pull the fabric snug, but don't stretch it.
Tie the leg into a nice firm knot, then cut it short with scissors.
Take some coordinating wire edged metallic ribbon from the Dollar Tree
and make a few loops. You don't have to make a bow.
Just make a few loops and put a straight pin through the thicknesses
at the bottom.
Stick the pin into the top of the pumpkin and fluff.
The wire edges make shaping it to perfection a cinch.
And there we go...one lacy, glitzy pumpkin, no hot glue involved!
This can hang out at your house all the way through Thanksgiving.
You can easily get 8 of these out of a pair of tights, so all
this fluffy, frothy gourdly goodness is about $1.75.
That's thrifty enough to pop one in each soup bowl at your holiday
table as a favor for your guests.
The best part?
Now you have an excuse not to WEAR the tights.
Seriously, it's Thankgiving.
Go find something with an elastic waist.
